Specializing in mouth-blown "old world" apples and ornaments, Appalachian Glass Products & Services LLC. produces a multitude of unique crystal creations in their studio nestled in the scenic hills of West Virginia.

The artisans of Appalachian Glass masterfully blend traditional glass making methods with the best of modern techniques. The studio is open and free to the public.

Appalachian Glass & Gifts features an assortment of West Virginia products including: mouth-blown glass, stained glass, toys, candles, pottery, quilts, paintings, woodcrafts, leather crafts, fresh honey and other baking products, WV dressings and sauces, candy, WV books and much more.

The Library and Center for Study for the purpose of storing and recording the genealogical history of the Hacker's Creek area in Lewis and surrounding counties.

Feel free to come and visit, research your WV roots, listen to stories, or just read a book on the history of our area.

Come see and experience early Appalachian life at the boyhood home of Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson.

The Historic District includes: The Jackson Family Mill Museum, The Blaker Grist Mill (still fully operational), The McWhorter Cabin, Mountain State Heritage Center and The Mary Conrad Cabin.

They offer guided tours of the Historic area. You are also welcome to come visit our general store, sit on our porch for a spell, feed the friendly ducks, or just enjoy some refreshing lemonade.

Bus Tours are welcome.

Finding yourself looking for something to do on Saturday or Sunday afternoon? Try the go-kart races!

Located here in Lewis County on Murphy Creek
Road. Gates open at 4:00 p.m. Races start at
7:00 p.m.

This dirt track is great fun to watch and/or race on in one of two classes: Super Kart and Poor Boy. New karts/racers are welcome.

Not a racer, just come and watch. Family fun for all ages.
Come catch the racing fever.

 

 


Stonecoal Lake

Located in both Lewis and Upshur counties, this lake is the home to some of the best Musky fishing the state of WV. There are many different fish that make Stonecoal their home besides the ever famous Musky, including Walleye, Bass, Trout, Carp, and Catfish all furnishing fish up to trophy size.

Currently holding two state records for Muskies caught within her waters, this is a MUST fishing spot for any avid fisherman. On the Lewis county side, of the lake, there is a handicap accessible parking lot and fishing dock, as well as a boat ramp.

Stonewall Jackson Lake and State Park

Being the newest lake and park in the state of WV, The Stonewall Jackson Lake State Park has more to offer than meets the eye.

The Visitors Center beneath the Stonewall Jackson Dam is full of interesting displays and information from around the area.

The foot of the dam is also an excellent fishing hole, especially for trout. There are many superb fishing spots/holes on and around the lake allowing you to enjoy year-round fishing.

The park also offers public hunting lands prefect for obtaining that trophy buck, squirrel, duck, bear or turkey.

The park is also the home to The Stonewall Resort, The Briar Point Campground, and The Stonewall Marina. Not to mention that this park has some of the most picturesque scenery in our state.

Every fall the park hosts "The National Hunting and Fishing Days" allowing everyone to explore the park and both sports by attending seminars, classes, children's actives, vendors, and everything else imaginable that concerns either sport.

The Mountaineer Military Museum

Located in the Historic Colored School of Weston, we welcome you to come and experience some of the United States Militaries greatest moments at our new museum.

Operated by the local American Legion, you can see the history through their eyes and almost relive it. Our exhibits cover your military history locally as well as abroad. We have much for you to see and learn when to come to visit.

Located in the of Weston, this historic building is a must see.
There are tours available for the public and special events held on the grounds though out the year. Starting soon they will have mud bogs on the grounds. Watch for her ghostly possibilities on an upcoming episode of the Ghost Hunters.
