Stay at the gorgeous Stonewall Resort in Roanoke and spend a weekend fishing at Stonewall Jackson Lake, which is known to offer some of the best bass fishing in West Virginia. Stonewall Jackson Lake only allows for catch-and-release, which means you will probably catch larger fish here than at other lakes around the state. The Marina at Stonewall Resort also includes a boat launch, pontoon rentals, marina shop and boat slips as well as guided fishing trips.
Every fall the park hosts "The National Hunting and Fishing Days" allowing everyone to explore the park and both sports by attending seminars, classes, children's activities, vendors, and everything else imaginable that concerns either sport.
Located in both Lewis and Upshur counties, Stonecoal lake is the home to some of the best Musky fishing in the state. There are many different fish that make Stonecoal their home besides the ever-famous Musky, including Walleye, Bass, Trout, Carp, and Catfish - all furnishing fish up to trophy size.
